We are absolutely delighted to share that two of our students, Rapolas and Lily, recently won the annual Frankly Speaking Debate Competition at the United States Embassy, with Rapolas taking home the best individual speaker prize.
Rapolas will now join students from across Europe and the United States for a month-long all-expenses paid summer school at the Benjamin Franklin Transatlantic Fellowship Institute. Congratulations as well to Daniella and Tidus, who attended in an important supporting role.
Last year the school was proud to be represented for the first time in the prestigious competition, which has welcomed over 650 students since its inception in 2010, attracting some top schools from not just London but much further afield, including Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds, Bradford and Coventry. Having placed runner up last year, narrowly losing out in the final, our complete victory this year is further testament to the health of our debating societies from KS3 through to KS5, as well as to the remarkable talents of their members.
Well done Rapolas, Lily, Daniella and Tidus!
